Mother’s Day Tea The Learning Center Children will be hosting a Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The children will be doing a short program and will also be helping to make the refreshments and decorations for the afternoon. Moms, grandmas, and special friends are invited! Look for sign-up sheets posted outside each classroom door in the very near future.
New Staff We welcome back to the staff from a short hiatus, Bree Heuser, who is now the Lead Teacher in our Big Room.
Ms. Rosie Castillo will be joining our staff the week of April 9, 2018. She will be a Teacher’s Assistant during the afternoons in the Big Room, but you may also see her helping in the other rooms.
Outdoor Play Please make sure that your child comes to daycare everyday with the appropriate clothing to wear outside to play. The State of Michigan requires us to take the children out daily unless it is raining or we are experiencing bitter cold temperatures.
Label Everything Please make sure that your child’s lunch and any snacks that are brought to the center are labeled with the child’s first and last name as well as the date that the child brought it to the center. This too, is required by the State of Michigan.
Food All food that is brought to the center for your child to eat for snack or any other time each day cannot anymore be left at the center until it is gone. The state told us at their visit two weeks ago that in order to be better in compliance with their rules and regulations the food should be brought in labeled on Mondays and returned to the parent on Friday of each week. Thank you for your co-operation.
Accident and Incident Reports Parents, you may have been seeing these more frequently lately. These reports are being used to communicate to you as parents what has gone on during the day with your child.
Accident Reports are being used when a child gets hurt during the day.
Incident Reports are being used to let parents know about any behavioral issues that a child may have had during the day.
These reports will be signed by the staff member involved and the director as well as the parents being asked to sign them indicating that you were made aware of the situation.
If you feel that you are seeing these reports much too frequently, please contact Lynn Johnston.
In Christ’s Service,
Lynn Johnston, Director
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
Worship Opportunities Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
